[Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein] Language: Hindi Genre: Musical Love Drama



Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, also referred as RHTDM is a 2001-released film. It stars

Madhavan, Diya Mirza and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles. It is directed by Gautham Menon.

The film was not much successful during the time of its release, but over the years it has

developed some sort of a cult following among Indian youth, especially because of the soft and

romantic portrayal of love between the chocolate boy Madhavan and the beautiful Diya.

Teenagers often find it intriguing because of the nicely conveyed emotions of love and

heartbreak.

Plot

Cupid's arrow and a lot more strike at Madhav Shastri when he first has a glimpse of beautiful

Reena Malhotra. Thereafter he meets her again and finds out that she is the betrothed of one

Rajiv, and so impersonating Rajiv he enters Reena's life. They both fall in love. Then American-

settled Rajiv Shyamrao, who used to know Madhav from college, comes to India to marry

Reena.

Reena is shocked to find out that the one she has given her heart out to is a fraud and a fake.

[[[Hirak Rajar Deshe]]] Language: Bengali Genre: Fiction Comedy



Hirak Rajar Deshe is the second movie of the Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne series directed by Satyajit Ray. A unique aspect of the film is that most of the dialogues exchanged by the protagonists of the film are rhyming. The only person who did not speak in rhyme, was the teacher, symbolizing that though the thoughts of everybody else is bound, the teacher was a free-thinker. It is also a National Award winner in different categories.

Plot

The magically musical duo of Goopy Gyne and Bagha Byne make a comeback in this sequel, where they are invited to the court of the Hirak Raja (The Diamond King), for their musical skills. They are to perform at the kingdom's Jubilee Celebrations. Hirak Rajya(Land of Diamonds), known for its huge diamond mines. They jocundly set out for Hirak Rajya. But little do they know of the mechanitions of Hirok Raja(Utpal Dutt). The king is a tyrant. Diamonds and riches get pent up in his treasuries, while his subjects starve and suffer. Those who protest, are taken care of in the 'Jantarmantar', a chamber for brainwashing devised by the scientist. The only enemy the king has in his land is Udayan Pandit (Soumitra Chatterjee). He is a local school teacher, but more than that he is a believer of values. Meanwhile, Goopy and Bagha are on their way to Hirok Rajya. By coincidence, they meet Udayan, who intimates them of the king's true nature. The duo then head into Hirok Rajya, where they are welcomed with grandeur. They entertain the rogue king, but also start plotting the overthrow, by brainwashing the king himself.



  • An amazing film that makes the youngest child, and the oldest person laugh.
  • It was amazing, and a must see for people who haven't seen it.
  • The Rajah is so funny at times, you just laugh along with him. Goopy and Bagha are amazing in their roles, and the slippers that take them anywhere crack me up. They eat whatever they want, when the sing, the world stops. Its amazing. A must see for the whole family.
  • As a director, Satyajit Ray outdid himself, and he made a timeless classic for people of all ages.

[Jab We Met] Language: Hindi Genre: Romantic Comedy



Jab We Met directed and written by Imtiaz Ali, casting Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Released in the U.K., a day before its worldwide release of 26 October 2007, the film went on to become a major hit at the Indian box office as well as doing good business overseas.

Plot

The film tells the story of a feisty Punjabi girl who is sent off track when she bumps into a depressed Mumbai businessman on an overnight sleeper to Delhi. While attempting to get him back on board when he alights at a station stop, both are left stranded in the middle of nowhere. Having walked out of his pressurised corporate job, the man has no destination in mind, until the girl forces him to accompany her back home and then on to elope with her secret boyfriend.

[Titanic] Language: English Genre: Romantic/Drama/Disaster



Titanic was directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron about the sinking of the RMS Ttanic. It stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson and Kate Winslet as Rose DeWitt Bukater. At the time, the picture became the most expensive film ever made, costing approximately US$200 million. The film was released into December 19, 1997. The film turned out to be an enormous critical and commercial success. Nominated for fourteen Academy Awards, it won eleven, including Best Picture. It became the highest-grossing film of all time, with a worldwide total of over $1.8 billion, and remained so for twelve years.
The film is due to be re-released in theatres in 2012.


Plot

Two members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ill-fated maiden voyage of the ship. The main characters and the central love story are fictional, but some characters (such as members of the ship's passengers and crew) are based on historical figures.

[Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge] Language: Hindi Genre: Romantic


Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge also known as DDLJ, is an out an out romantic film. It was released nationwide on 20 October 1995 & directed by Aditya Chopra, and stars Shahrukh Khan, Kajol, and Amrish Puri. Earning over Rs 580 million in India and Rs 175 million overseas, the film became the biggest Bollywood hit of the year, as well as one of the biggest Bollywood hits of all time. The movie remains the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema.

Plot

Raj Malhotra and Simran Singh are young first generationBritish Indians brought up and living in London. Raj is the only child of wealthy Dharamvir Malhotra. During Europe trip Simran bumps into Raj. After some initial misadventures, he falls in love with Simran. Only at their moment of parting at the railway station in London does Simran realizes that she too has fallen in love with Raj. However, everything comes crashing down when Baldev sees a photograph of Raj and Simran together when they were on their trip across Europe.

[Monpura] Language: Bengali Genre: Romantic





Monpura is film based on romance in a rural scenario. The debut film of Gias Uddin Selim has made huge hype even before its release. The shooting of the film was started in June 2007. It was shot in different places including Dhunot(Bogra), Khushtia and Dhaka.The film 'Monpura' has the star casting which is not based on glamour of face but the glamour of acting. Chanchal Chowdhury plays the role of Sonai. New Actor Farhana Mili plays the role of Pori (daughter of a boatman). And the young couple are well supported by veteran actors Mamunur Rashid and Fazlur Rahman Babu.

Plot

Monpura is a story centrev around a man named Sonai. He had been banished from the life he lived previously because the autistic son of the man he worked for had killed a young girl and the blame was placed upon him. He was sent to live in a deserted island by name of Monpura. His solitary life was thrown into motion by the instant love he felt for a fishermans daughter, Pori, who passes by the island on the back of her fathers boat. After many secret meetings, the pair are finally found out and Sonai seeks her hand in marriage, by asking the man he previously worked for. Instead, a marriage between his autsistic son and Pori is arranged. Sonai is also found and jailed for the alleged killing. In an attempt to help the newly wedded Pori move on with her life, her in-laws inform her of his imminent hanging. In a fit of depression, Pori drinks a poisonous liquid at the same moment she believes Sonai is being hung. Sonai is not found guilty and comes back for her, only to find a funeral procession in her honour. He sobs, rowing out to the ocean and lets go of his oars; floating wherever the ocean takes him.


Music

It is a rare case that a Bangla movie comes under spotlight by its music. Though people are reluctant to hear and talk of Hindi movie songs, Monpura perhaps will change this tradition. It was thought that the music from the film was collected from Bangladesh folk music, but, almost all the songs of Monpura is original. There is depth, creative thoughts and trend breaking effort put into this album.

[Rang De Basanti] Language: Hindi Genre: Drama


Rang De Basanti written and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. It features an ensemble cast comprising Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan,Madhavan, Kunal Kapoor, Siddharth Narayan, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni and British actress Alice Patten in the lead roles. Made on a budget of Rs. 250 million (US$5.5 million), the film was shot in and around New Delhi. Rang De Basanti also was chosen as India's official entry for the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category.

Plot

The story is about a British documentary filmmaker who is determined to make a film on Indian freedom fighters based on diary entries by her grandfather, a former officer of the British Army in India. Upon arriving in India, she asks a group of five young men to act in her film. They agree, but after they begin filming a friend of theirs is killed in a fighter aircraft crash, with government corruption appearing to be the root cause of the incident. This event radicalizes them from being carefree to passion-driven individuals who are determined to avenge his death.
